Capital Art Center is honored to present Echoes of Sea and Time, a duo exhibition by Ping-Yi LI and Julie Hayashi, held from November 1 to 28, 2025, at SHIZUKA BUILDING LOUNGE in Osaka. As part of the satellite program of The Different Kyomachibori Art Fair 2025, the show deepens the dialogue between contemporary art in Taiwan and Japan.
The exhibition title suggests a meditation on memory, nature, and existence. Taiwanese artist Ping-Yi LI captures the rhythms of life through imagery of waves and organic landscapes, reflecting her intimate connection with Taitung’s natural environment. Japanese artist Julie Hayashi, working across painting, sculpture, and installation, reveals a delicate sensibility rooted in traditional aesthetics and the awareness of impermanence.
Together, LI and Hayashi create a poetic dialogue that transcends geography, inviting viewers to experience how the sea and time resonate across cultures. As a satellite exhibition, Echoes of Sea and Time celebrates the shared yet diverse perspectives of Taiwan and Japan within Osaka’s vibrant contemporary art scene.
